What is b-mod?Behavior modification is what dog trainers and behaviorists do when we are trying to change a dog's negative emotional response to people, animals, places, things, and situations through the use of positive reinforcement training techniques.
Who is it for?B-Mod is for dogs that are exhibiting any of the following behaviors: fear, aggression towards other dogs and people, on leash dog aggression or leash reactivity, resource guarding, territorial aggression, mouthing or biting when being touched (handling), barking, house soiling, and multiple dog household issues.
How much does it cost? The initial 1.5 hour consultation costs $160. 1 hour follow up sessions are $110.
How many sessions does it take to see progress? It varies case by case. It depends on what the behavior issue is, how habitual the unwanted behavior has become, how your dog responds to training and how much time you can commit to training when we are not there.

How does it work?We come to your home and evaluate your dog in their own environment. We also obtain a detailed history of your dog's behavior to include medical background information. Then, we work with your dog at their comfort level, gaining insight to how they respond to different stimuli while identifying behaviors we notice as the session progresses. The session concludes with an honest and detailed summary of our evaluation with a suggested training plan.
Does B-Mod work for all dogs?Unfortunately B-mod does not always work on its own. There are a few factors that could get in the way of a dog's success. Sometimes, there are psychological issues, including chemical imbalances that require medication and treatment by a veterinary behaviorist. Lack of consistency with training and follow through is another. But the hardest one for us to relay to owners is when there is a mismatch, when people get a dog that is not the right match for their lifestyle. Sometimes, no matter how much you work at it, it's just not the right fit.

What is basic manners?Basic Manners is the basics of dog training. We will work on common commands like sit, down, stay, come, loose leash walking, look at me, leave it, bowl manners and polite greetings.
Who is it for?Dogs who do not have any known behavior issues and their guardians who may want to learn or fine tune the basic commands.
How many sessions do I need? That depends on your wants and needs, your dog's ability to maintain focus, and how many commands you would like to master. Typically we try and work on 2-3 commands per session.
